Wow, well done Andreas! This is the first opensource Enterprise 2.0 solution (that I’m aware of) that has all of these tools/features integrated.

Mike2’s made great progress in a year’s time.

Yes, the tag cloud is automatically populated with existing categories. You can specify the criteria (e.g. minimum number of articles in a category before the category shows up in the cloud) in the .body file. It’s all working on http://mike2.openmethodology.org. Hi Friso,
I can’t see how the extension impacts the Special page as there are no links, but the no one can be too sure. Please also post this on http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CategorySuggest which should be read by more people.
It’s also worth a try to look at your script size (either in php.ini or as a setting in Localsettings.php). A too small script size (less than 32MB) caused a similar issue for me the other day.

I like this tool as it helps with blog formatting problems and has a lot of add ons. Unfortunately it has the worst installer of any blog authoring tool. You need to use the Windows Live installer pack and have Windows Update switched on – a no-no in a lot of enterprise standard desktops. There is a secret standalone install that is simple and effective but not widely available as Microsoft are trying to push people towards the full Live installer to encourage extra Live products.

since I’m using your extension I’m not able to access the special:allmessages page. I found out by gradually changing my local settings configuration file that the problem is here: require_once(”$IP/extensions/CategorySuggest/CategorySuggest.php”);

In fact by disabling the ‘Category suggest’ extension (see below) the the special:allmessages page is up and running again.

Hi,
Wondering if you might be able to help. Your extension is exactly what I am looking for but does not seem to be working as expected…? There are no categories displayed under ‘Popular Categories’ tab and ‘Category Hierarchy’ tab says ‘Coming soon…’.

I am assuming that tabs should be dynamically populated with existing categories for me to choose from?

This extension is only to help assignment of categories when editing an article. I assume you would want something like http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:WikiCategoryTagCloud.
